2009

is over! I suppose I should do some reflective post on the past year? Hmm. Not like I got anything better to do now anyway.

Note: It's really really very wordy. So unless you're prepared to fall asleep, I recommend you only read what you wna read.

On school / studies

I think this year has really stretched me a lot. I have never tried to cram so much into my brain for just one day of regurgitation. I mean, there seemed to always been hints and all. But the O levels were really just like, a huge mystery. Obviously we all spotted but no one could really tell what would come out. I feel quite lucky though, that what I studied for mostly came out. I think studying with friends was okay, but maybe not that conducive? It was great fun though.

I remember studying with Jomain in Yishun for prelims.

I remember studying with Vanessa and a whole lot of other people in Bishan for the Os.

I remember trying (but failing on so many levels) to revise Literature with OTTer.

I remember studying with Jun Hoe in Indian Summer for ... a lot of things.

These study sessions made up a big part of my year. I really learnt a lot during those times. :D

My last year in SN was quite bittersweet. The end was VERY anti-climatic and I really can't say if I think it's a good thing or bad. I mean, I felt secure in SN. I know I've been really sheltered there. Going out to JC scares me. Starting over scares me.

In Sec 1, there was once when I couldn't wait to leave SN. And now it's over. I'll be leaving the environment that I got really comfortable in. I really like the family environment we have there. Ah well. Time to moooove on! :D

My studies have been average I suppose. There were some highs, and mostly quite lows. But hopefully it'll be good when it really matters. I don't think my parents want me to go to Poly. I know I can't go there. Not because I discriminate against them but rather because I have no goal yet. So I wouldn't know what course to take. I've been thinking about the JC/Poly thing for awhile and I still think the JC route will be the best for me. All that's left is choosing a JC. Hopefully I'll get many many choices :D :D Haha I'm an optimistic girl.

On CCA

I LOVE MY CCA. Truly. I love being a librarian. I love the people there. I love the fact that we aren't a big CCA. I love that I know almost everyone there. I love that we have aircon. I love it all.

But I remember when I was so ashamed of my CCA. I am not deluded or brainwashed. Even I know that Library isn't the most glamorous CCA out there. But who cares about that? I am a librarian and I'm proud of it.

I haven't done the normal library duties for YEARS. Since Sec2 I think. Not that I'm complaining of course. Being in the committee has taught me alot. I learnt how to talk to a group of people who weren't listening to you. I learnt to research. I learnt to work with people. I learnt to plan.

I'm glad I chose Library over Infocomm or other CCAs. :D

I know people look down on Library. Like, 'Library? Omg so slack!!' I'd like to SLAP those people. Librarians WORK. Granted, we don't do anything under the hot sun. But we do stuff. We don't sit in the aircon all day doing nothing. Urgh. Thinking about this makes me quite angry. I really hope that one day, people will be able to change their opinion of librarians. Because we really are a cool bunch. My love. :D

Library has given me really good friends like Gar and Vanessa and Rooth.

Library has given me Scrabble. One thing I found that I was not bad at.

Library has given me opportunities to do things I wouldn't normally do. (Doing the board? Urgh.)

On dance

Not mincing words, I know that I am not a good dancer. I'm not good at ballet yet, despite doing it for almost 11 years. But I am improving I think. I suppose as I grow up, I become more mature and more ready to put my all into ballet.

Sometimes I see the senior dancers in my school and go 'omg how do they do that.' Then I remember they're around my age. And if I try, I just might be able to be a fraction as good as them.

So this year, I'm going to try as hard as I can to dance well. :D Wish me luck!

On family

I start to appreciate my family alot more after everything. I really hope that one day, we'll all be happy kids again. (:

On music taste

2009 was really the year of KPop. I have been a fan of BoA since.. sec2 maybe? But I never really listened to other KPop artists. (Okay BoA is mainly JPop but she's Korean. So yeah.)

So thanks to Chloe, Siaoyi and allkpop, I now am a verified KPop fan. :D

On books

I read trashy novels.

HAHAHA. I suppose you can tell that I have nothing more to rant about. -.-

Okay I shall go eat before coming back to continue.

I'm too lazy to continue reflecting. So bye :D
